|  | | Blockbuster exhibitions attract visitors to Canberra | | Blockbuster exhibitions such as Masterpieces from Paris, Renaissance and Handwritten are bolstering Canberra’s $1.3 billion tourism industry, a report by Tourism Research Australia has confirmed. Federal Minister for Tourism, Martin Ferguson AM MP, released the Major Blockbuster Events in the ACT report on the impact major events and
exhibitions have on visitor numbers and perceptions of the Canberra region.The report finds that exhibitions were the main reason for visiting Canberra for 65 per cent of those surveyed. Exhibition visitors spend an average of $314 per visit with Canberra’s attractions and businesses. |
