News - The PC to SMS landscape has changed

| By:

The Australian Mobile communications carriers have now all implemented a "grey link" filter to stop unauthorised gateways from accessing their networks and sending SMS messages. A number of companies were using these grey links to be able to sell really cheap SMS services into the Australian marketplace and hence undercut the authorised channels. By implementing these filters the mobile carriers have effectively cut out these unauthorised gateways. It does seem that one or two have access, but we doubt that the mobile carriers will allow that to happen for long. It should be noted that PRODOCOM did not succumb to the attractiions of these cheap SMS services, which means that we've always used authorised channeles only and hence our high quality service is unaffected.
